So, gang. It’s possible that I may turn into a burger. It seems that my time off work and away from my usual routine has converted me into a full-blown carnivore.
Aside from the burger-domination phase of life in early college that I blame on low iron, I have never eaten so many burgers in such a short period of time.
Today my mom and I dined at Dressel’s Public House in the Central West End. And what did I get? The Dressel’s burger. I can’t give you the full scoop on the dinner menu as I didn’t inquire about everything, but I will tell you that their burger can be prepared gluten-free. And, prepared deliciously awesome. I’ve got to say, they make a mean burger.
We’re talking naturally raised Missouri beef, aged cheddar, onion jam, and house pickles.
And (hold your breath, please)…their house-made chips are gluten-free. Our server confirmed that they are fried in their own oil, separate from some of the other items they fry in-house.
My mom also got the Pozole soup as an appetizer – a traditional Mexican soup made with pork and pozole. And yes,it was gluten free.
As always, make sure to check with your server about the gluten free-ness of all the dishes! But if you’re at Dressel’s, you’ll have no problem – everyone was incredibly friendly and very willing to accommodate or confirm with the kitchen on GF items.
Until the next Pearl,
Kate
